The site lets people explore demo data, simulate a DuoBoucle, signal interest and contact the team. There are currently no member accounts, real rides, bookings or payments.

DuoVoie’s intended role

DuoVoie is designed as a matching platform for non-profit sharing of vehicle costs on travel already decided by the driver. Drivers set their destination, time and meeting points; passengers choose among existing listings.

• DuoVoie does not order, create or dispatch rides.
• One-way posting is always allowed; a return is linked only when genuinely planned.
• DuoSignal displays aggregated, non-identifying trends only.

$0 DuoVoie fees at launch

Signup is free. During the announced launch phase, DuoVoie plans $0 subscriptions and $0 platform fees for drivers and passengers. The driver contribution remains separate and cannot exceed the passenger’s eligible share of vehicle costs.

Any future fee requires updated terms, a clearly displayed total and acceptance before booking. Changes will not apply retroactively.

Planned payments, not yet offered

The planned flow uses a specialized provider: card or PayPal for passengers; bank deposit, Interac e-Transfer, PayPal or Wise for drivers. Each method depends on provider agreements, eligibility, identity checks and provider rules.

DuoVoie must not directly hold or transmit funds until the provider and counsel confirm whether money-services, payment, identity or anti-money-laundering duties apply. Drivers may propose cash, but it cannot offer the same financial protection.

Required before any transaction

• Publish the operator’s legal name, business address and complete contact details.
• Obtain a written legal opinion on the Québec–Ontario model and the platform’s regulatory status.
• Obtain written confirmation of driver, vehicle and coverage limits in both provinces.
• Validate payment flows, refunds, disputes, identity checks and FINTRAC status with providers.
• Validate tax and platform-operator reporting rules; no exemption is presumed.
• Show total price, currency, fees, service, cancellation and the contract copy within legal requirements.
• Have French terms reviewed by Québec counsel before requesting express agreement to contract in English.

Honest communications and promises

Commercial email will require valid consent, sender identification and contact details, and a compliant unsubscribe mechanism. Quantified environmental claims will be used only with documented methods and evidence.

A feature is called active only when it works; a protection is called guaranteed only after its funding, limits and handling process exist.
